Our Story

Over 50 Years of History

From humble beginnings to a thriving equestrian community

1972

Macclesfield & District Riding Club was founded by a group of passionate local riders who wanted to create a supportive community for equestrians in Cheshire.

1980s

The club grew steadily, establishing regular shows and competitions that became firm favourites on the local equestrian calendar.

1990s

MDRC became affiliated with British Riding Clubs, opening up new opportunities for members to compete at area and national level.

Today

Over 50 years later, MDRC continues to thrive, running six summer shows, winter events, and welcoming riders of all ages and abilities.
